Our local IT Provider (CDC) for the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center (CAC) has grown to the Global Service Provider for the core CRM Ecosystem of Daimler worldwide. Our Eco system consists of a CRM System, Telephony, Call and screen recording and knowledge management systems. Since our expansion that ended in 2019, we cover 54 countries, supporting 20.000 dealers, 3000 call agents and 600 local back office employees that make use of our Ecosystem worldwide. As Daimler is a company on the move we are currently involved in a transition of our Ecosystem into a complete new environment, in addition to that we are involved in an outsourcing deal for IT Infrastructure.
Per August 2021, Daimler outsourced all IT Infrastructure services to an external company, TAF/Infosys. The retained department is the team of Business Accelerators, instated to insure a smooth transition and create advantage on getting value for money, to keep knowledge on board and act as a man in the middle for a good transition and guaranteed service level within the financial, technical and quality levels as defined and agreed.
The responsibility of the Senior Solution Designer is to design business specific solutions, leveraging the standard services provides by the TAF Partners. With a specialization in a technical area (DC, NW, SD, WP, SAP), the Solution Designer is capable of building customized solutions for business partners. He / she orchestrate the use/ consumption of the IT services and involves Technology Domain & Innovation architects on demand for non-standard service requests and projects
The function
The function Business Accelerator is responsible for understanding the demand for IT infrastructure and technology services, for closely collaborating with the business partners in specifying requirements and for delivering solutions that leverage the highly standardized IT infrastructure platform services provided by the TAF partners.
It enables business partners to get the best value from products and services provided by the TAF Partners as well as by internal units (e.g. Dynamic Platforms) for a specific division or customer need. Leveraging the business process know-how, it ensures that the solutions support the long-term strategies of the respective business partners.
Key tasks comprise the analysis of the infrastructure and technology demand for new products or applications from the business partner and the definition of suitable solutions based on products/ services provided by the TAF Partners. This function additionally identifies and ensure provision of products and services not covered adequately by the service portfolio of the TAF Partner
Specialists working in this function have profound technical skills to provide stable solutions across technology domains and know concepts to transition applications on modern infrastructure stacks.Some of the products that the BA team delivers are:
- Shop floor and continuity critical device solutions [thin clients]
- Business partner management [retained]
- Application Operation [Experts in cloud/Technical assistance/Ecosystem focus]
- Advanced application performance monitoring concepts and implementation
- Application Integration, optimization and securing cost efficiency
- Passive network, wiring of the CAC Building
Task & responsibilities are:
- Support the Business Partner Manager in consulting business customer and ITx in technical question regarding existing services out of the service portfolio
- Orchestrate the use/ consumption of standard services from TAF Partner platform and other IT related services (topics out of scope TAF Partner)
- Supervise implementation process from technical perspective
- Ensure integrated solution that satisfies business specific needs (e. g. on plant / production operations level, automation control systems, facility management, etc.)
- Act as interface to Technology Domain & Innovation Architects and Portfolio Management to develop the service catalogue
- Analyze and specify technical requirements for infrastructure that require profound expert knowledge
- Serve business demands of customer units by designing business specific solutions based on standard services from TAF Partner platform (own solution design only for exceptional cases) Support on "last level" for complex environment issues based on deep application and platform know-how
