The organisation
The Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center is an international multicultural organization and an integrated part of Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales. In our offices in Maastricht we think and act globally and assume a leading role for the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centers all over the world. Our goal is to provide excellent assistance to our customers and dealers of well-known Daimler brands like Mercedes-Benz, AMG, smart, Setra and Mercedes me. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, we ensure our customers’ mobility with our roadside assistance. Additionally, we take care of all kinds of enquiries about passenger cars, trucks and vans during our opening hours. For our customers we are maybe the most important connection to the Mercedes-Benz brand. That’s why we live the brand’s most important promise: “The best or nothing”.
The function
The project leader will be leading international projects, which implement solutions and methodologies that enable clients / business partners to optimize their business. He/she leads and guides several large projects and takes complete ownership on day to day issues related to the assigned tasks.
The project leader will be working with international stakeholders and business partners, internal technical teams and external providers. He/she is responsible for setting up the project, organization of the project team, targets & milestones, planning, ensuring implementation of best practices while managing time, budget and quality borders.
The PL reports to the Manager Roll-Out Implementation.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage the project team to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery of all assigned tasks
- Manage issues & risks, schedules & dependencies and budget in assigned projects
- Manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost and quality parameters
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, maintain project documentation and provide status reports to team and stakeholders
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement of processes and procedures
- Maintain a good working relationship with your colleagues, business partners, international stakeholders and providers throughout the entire Daimler organization
- Ensure the roll-out and associated change management till a successful handover to line business is guaranteed
- Prepare project templates (according to the Houston standard) to ensure acceptance and alignment of all stakeholders involved
- Communicate project timelines to internal and external stakeholders and ensure adherence to milestones and assigned tasks
- Enable fact-based decision making by creating transparency through e.g. providing different scenarios for feasibility evaluation
- Manage & execute standardized updates and ad-hoc analysis on project status
Requirements
We are looking for professionals with a strong academic business background that are fluent in corporate language English combining project management with excellent stakeholder management skills and business knowledge.
The ideal candidate is:
- Motivated to work in a multicultural environment within the Daimler group
- Enthusiastic about the automotive industry and executing functional strategies that support the CAC in its vision to act as passionate and customer-oriented brand ambassador on behalf of Daimler
- Result-driven with strong self-management skills and a strong ability to operate cross-functionally in order to lead multiple projects with end-to-end responsibility.
- Committed to support Mercedes-Benz in improving its service portfolio by proactively initiating and leading projects that improve the experience of MB customers and business partners on a long-term perspective
Further requirements:
- Bachelor or Master degree, with additional project management certificates
- At least five years of professional experience in an international project management position
- Have demonstrable and thorough knowledge of project management methods
- Near native English language skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide project status and information to stakeholders and executives
- Must be an influencer and decision maker to make critical decisions in a timely manner
- Strong meeting facilitation and negotiation skills
- Excellent analytic and interpersonal skills to influence and engage colleagues, along with a broad understanding of the businesses they support
- Ability to balance the big picture with meeting the day-to-day needs of the organization
- Ability to partner with both technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders, to interact with various levels of management, and to promote cross functional collaboration
- Ability to be flexible and work accurately and hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure, multi-tasking environment with changing priorities
- Willingness to travel (up to approx. 60%)
