The function

The Multi Project Manager (MPM) is part of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) team, which consists of one MPM and several Project Management Officers (PMO’s).

PMO is part of the “Digitalization and Project Management” team, which also includes the team of “Project Management” as well as "Change Management". “Digitalization and Project Management” belongs to the GSP/OC3 department, which has a global governance role for all Mercedes-Benz Customer Contact Centers (CCC's). As part of this governance role, GSP/OC3 is responsible for the implementation of new initiatives in these contact centers worldwide.

These initiatives can be initiated locally in the Mercedes-Benz CAC or by other Mercedes-Benz entities. Currently, initiatives are managed following a Waterfall methodology – however, with the ongoing Lean Agile Transformation, the Scaled Agile Framework will be adopted as well. The PMO department ensures that these initiatives are executed in a consistent, transparent and professional way.

The main role of the Multi Project Manager is to own and maintain the overall portfolio of initiatives, together with the strategic portfolio roadmap incl. milestones, dependencies and risks. The main role of the Project Management Officers is to safeguard the planning, quality and documentation of these projects as well as their respective resource management.

What is your role and what are your tasks?

  • Creation and maintenance of the overall CAC initiative (epic and project) portfolio with CCC worldwide scope
  • Creation and maintenance of an integrated strategic portfolio roadmap for the CAC
  • Facilitation of Strategic Portfolio Reviews with Executive Leadership as well as Portfolio Sync with the Management team
  • Driving the Lean Portfolio Management adoption within the CCC Innovation network of the CAC
  • Coaching and coordination of the Project Management Officers
  • Management of dependencies between initiatives
  • Ensuring the delivery of a consistent and transparent portfolio progress reporting
  • Planning and guidance of the resource allocation process
  • Assessment and tracking of portfolio risks
  • Ownership, definition and optimization of the CAC project management process (based on Waterfall Project Management as well as the Scaled Agile framework)

Requirements

Who are you?

  • Bachelor/Master degree with additional project management certificates
  • At least five years of professional experience in a project, multi-project, or program management position
  • Thorough knowledge of project management methods, e.g. Prince2 or Agile Product Management (in line with the Scaled Agile Framework)
  • Preferably with a Scaled Agile Framework certification (e.g. Lean Portfolio Management)
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office toolset, experience with Jira preferred
  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment characterized by high pace of change
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective in stakeholder management; able to interact with- and present to a large variety of stakeholders
  • Independent actor as well as a strong team player
  • Advanced time management and analytical skills
  • Strong meeting facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to balance the big picture with meeting the day-to-day needs of the organization
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic multicultural environment
  • Result-oriented mindset
