The organisation

The Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center [MBCAC] is located in Maastricht, the Netherlands and supports all after-sales customers for Mercedes-Benz, smart, AMG, Maybach in Europe. In 2015 the MBCAC has been granted the worldwide governance role for all Mercedes-Benz aftersales call centers around the globe. Within the Global Contact Center management department (GSP/OC3), the SIRIUS team focuses on the integration of digital technology into all areas of business.


In our offices in Maastricht, we think and act globally and are in a leading role for the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centers all over the world. Our goal is to provide the best roadside assistance and customer services to our customers of well-known Daimler brands like Mercedes-Benz, AMG, Maybach, smart, Setra and Mercedes me & Mercedes PRO. The function

The Multi Project Manager (MPM) is part of the Project Management Office (PMO) and SIRIUS Program Office team, which consists of one MPM, several Project Management Officers (PMO’s), as well as a Senior Business Consultant.

“PMO and SIRIUS Program Office” is part of the “Digitalization and Project Management” team, which also includes the team of “Project Management”. “Digitalization and Project Management” belongs to the GSP/OC3 department, which has a global governance role for all Mercedes-Benz Customer Contact Centers. As part of this governance role, GSP/OC3 is responsible for the implementation of new projects and initiatives in these contact centers worldwide.

These projects can be initiated locally in the Mercedes-Benz CAC or by other Mercedes-Benz entities. Currently, projects are managed following a Waterfall methodology – however, with the ongoing Lean Agile Transformation, the Scaled Agile Framework will be adopted as well. The PMO department ensures that these projects are executed in a consistent, transparent and professional way.

The main role of the Multi Project Manager is to manage the overall project portfolio as well as to maintain a strategic project roadmap. The main role of the Project Management Officers is to safeguard the planning, quality and documentation of these projects as well as their respective resource management.

What is your role and what are your tasks?

  • Creation and maintenance of the overall CAC Project portfolio with CCC worldwide scope
  • Creation and maintenance of an integrated strategic project roadmap for the CAC
  • Drive the Lean Portfolio Management adoption within the CCC Innovation network of the CAC (incl. the transformation from a PMO to an Agile Product Management Office)
  • Advise higher management with regard to the portfolio planning
  • Coaching and coordination of the Project Management Officers
  • Manage dependencies between projects
  • Support project leaders to initiate new strategic projects
  • Ensuring the delivery of a consistent project status reporting
  • Planning and guidance of the resource allocation process
  • Assessment and tracking of project risks
  • Monitoring of project budgets
  • General support and coaching of the new project managers
  • Ownership, definition and optimization of CAC project management process (based on Waterfall Project Management as well as the Scaled Agile framework)
  • Ensure the optimization of the CAC project management templates
  • Enable project management adherence/governance

Requirements

Who are you?

  • Bachelor/Master degree with additional project management certificates
  • At least five years of professional experience in a project, multi-project or program management position
  • Thorough knowledge of project management methods, e.g. Prince2 or Agile
  • Preferably with a Scaled Agile Framework certification (e.g. Lean Portfolio Management)
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS office toolset and experience in Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present on an executive level
  • Effective in stakeholder management; able to interact with a large variety of stakeholders
  • Independent actor as well as a strong team player
  • Advanced time management and analytical skills
  • Strong meeting facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to balance the big picture with meeting the day-to-day needs of the organization
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic multicultural environment
  • Willingness to travel for work if required
  • Result-oriented mindset and ability to work under pressure
