The organisation

The Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center Maastricht (CAC) is the central point of contact in Europe, caring for the needs of current and prospective Mercedes-Benz and smart customers. Forty two different nationalities add diversity and enrich an organization dedicated to satisfied customers and high performance. Employees act as brand representatives ensuring that customers receive personal assistance in their own language at a consistently high level.

Our Customer Service departments answer customer enquiries and complaints, while the Service24h department organizes roadside assistance for customers. Services related to customers mobility guarantee availability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The function

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our Legal Department at the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center in Maastricht. The Legal Department deals with all legal matters within the entity from GDPR related questions , data processing agreements to supplier contract negotiations, IT contracts and contract filing. Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Review NDA's and variation/amendment/extension letters under minimal supervision
  • Manage the legal archive (both digital and physical) including contracts summaries and filing contracts
  • Manage the full contract signing cycle
  • Support with specific projects for the launch of new services and business
  • Assist with creation of new contract templates and maintain/update current contract templates
  • Assist with legal research
  • Assist with drafting internal policies
  • Assist with ad hoc legal projects/ legal cases
  • Assist with contracts and documents proof-reading
  • Prepare presentations for the legal department
  • Connect stakeholders , enable a multidisciplinary approach to develop and implement data privacy issues and convert this into scalable processes.

Requirements

  • Master of Law degree LL.M ( preferably in Corporate Law) Dutch Law or European Law (knowledge of Dutch Law is a big advantage)
  • 1-2 year working experience in a law-firm or in-house department is nice to have
  • Excellent drafting skills and attention to details
  • Proactive and used to deal with multiple projects at the same time
  • High standard of work and exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Team player with strong social skills.
  • Proactive approach to maximize and constantly improve existing procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English (Dutch or German nice to have but not mandatory)
  • Interest and / or experience in data protection (GDPR) would be an advantage
