The organisation

The main goal of the IT Team Manager is to help steer & manage a team of dedicated individuals in their ongoing tasks while supporting the delivery of the team within the SAFE Agile Release Train.

This is a role in the IT department of the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center (CAC), which has grown from being the local IT Provider for the CAC to being the Global Service Provider for the core CRM application of Mercedes-Benz worldwide. In total up to 20.000 dealers and 3000 call center agents worldwide, make use of our applications.

Within the department of IT Products & Applications, the IT Team Manager will be part of an international team with colleagues from all continents, working out of the Maastricht offices, and cooperating with suppliers worldwide.

The function

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the personal and professional development of your team members.
  • Help shape and implement IT strategies and action plans.
  • Oversee financial processes and budget management for your department.
  • Handle Purchase Orders and drive IT performance management.
  • Encourage innovation and adapt to the latest IT trends and tools.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and manage team objectives.
  • Lead recruitment and manage team stability.
  • Ensure adherence to SAFE methodologies and contribute to the CAC Agile Release Train.
  • Uphold the company's integrity and security standards.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • A university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in IT software development.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Genesys Telephony is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM, Service Operations, or Telephony.
  • Experience with SAFE Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with a second European language being beneficial.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational tasks.
  • A flexible approach to work, with a focus on results and the ability to work well under pressure.
