The organisation
The Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center Maastricht (CAC) is the central point of contact in Europe, caring for the needs of current and prospective Mercedes-Benz and smart customers. Forty two different nationalities add diversity and enrich an organization dedicated to satisfied customers and high performance. Employees act as brand representatives ensuring that customers receive personal assistance in their own language at a consistently high level.
Our Customer Service departments answer customer enquiries and complaints, while the Service24h department organizes roadside assistance for customers. Services related to customers mobility guarantee availability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The function
- Ensure correct and transparent recording of all business transactions in accordance with general accounting principles, existing (tax) laws and internal guidelines.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely monthly closing process and internal financial reporting.
- Responsible for CAC related Accounting methods and therefore needed IT Processes.
- Preparation of yearly financial statements (Balance sheet, profit/loss) according to national and Daimler standards for relevant entities.
- Handle all tax related tasks (VAT, Company income tax, Transfer Pricing documentation)
- Cash and interest management.
- Ensure compliance of all applying group and local rules and regulations (safety and economic regulations, working hour regulation, policies) as well as defined processes (according to effective regulations/documents).
- Maintenance/development of the financial system supporting the needs of the organization.
- Lead, motivate and develop the accounting team that consists of direct 5 team members and 10 FTE for services to subsidiaries in other EU countries.
Requirements
- HBO / WO Degree is Business Administration or equivalent
- Several years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance & controlling, treasury and tax
- Fluent in Dutch and English, German would be a plus
- Strong computer skills, MS Excel in particular
- Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and Dutch accounting principles, laws and regulations
- Leadership and people management skills and experience
- Stress resistant, accurate, strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize work
