Beyond this responsibility, we also steer and further develop the global Customer Contact Centers (CCC) of Mercedes-Benz for After-Sales and Sales.

The function

What will you do?

The main goal of the Data Architect is to ensure that our IT Applications are designed and developed with the Mercedes-Benz Data landscape and Data Governance in mind.

This is a role in the IT department of the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center (CAC), which has grown from being the local IT Provider for the CAC to being the Global Service Provider for the core CRM application of Mercedes-Benz worldwide. In total up to 20.000 dealers and 2000 call center agents worldwide, make use of our applications.

Within the department of IT Products & Applications, the Data Architect will be part of an international team with colleagues from all continents, working out of the Maastricht offices, and cooperating with suppliers worldwide. Within this environment, the Data Architect acts as the link between the different Agile teams, the program architects and the data steward with a focus on (batch) data integration, Data Warehouse, data lineage & data modeling for our complete CCC Ecosystem.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the program and team architects to ensure alignment & sound governance of data usage and data modeling within the CAC.
• Pro-actively support and have a leading role in the architecture, design, further development, testing, deployment and maintaining of:
  
  • the data warehouse and data management tools, interfaces and applications
  • the data loading programs
  • the data export programs
  • our CCC ecosystem in cooperation with the Service Architect Community
  
  
• Support the agile teams with the documentation & maintenance of data models and implementation of the data governance framework.
• Implement and maintain the data modeling toolset in our environment linked to our data catalog and data governance framework
• Share your knowledge and expertise in the team to ensure continuity, by keeping documentation up to date, providing training material and become recognized as one of the data experts within the company
• Communicate with customers, suppliers and support & development teams in the event of data (quality) issues to find an adequate solution.

Requirements

Who are you?

• University degree or higher-vocational in computer science, Engineering or related field or a combination of related experience and education in the field of Data architecture
• At least seven years of working experience within IT software development
• Experience with data modeling tools
• Familiar with at least one of the three specific IT knowledge areas: CRM, Business intelligence & Data Warehouse or Telephony/Omnichannel with a strong focus on functional & technical analysis and data architecture
• Advanced knowledge and experience in software development in an Agile environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong analytical background, communication and problem solving skills
• Excellent analytic and interpersonal skills to influence and engage colleagues, along with a broad understanding of the businesses they support
• Ability to balance the big picture with meeting the day-to-day needs of the organization
• Ability to partner with both technical and non-technical peers and stakeholders, to interact with various levels of management, and to promote cross functional collaboration
• Ability to be flexible and work accurate and outcome based, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure, multi-tasking environment with changing priorities
• Willingness to travel
