The function

The AI Architect is responsible for defining and communicating a consolidated technical and architectural vision and AI strategy for the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center.

The AI Architect supports the Enterprise Architect in defining the AI strategy and roadmap and supports the multiple architects and development teams in defining the solution architecture for AI related topics. The AI Architect is also up to date with the latest developments and technologies related to AI as well as existing and upcoming laws, regulations, and guidelines related to AI to ensure the organization remains compliant. The AI Architect also provides the governance for AI related development and acts as the lead of the AI Center of Excellence (CoE).

The AI Architect collaborates closely with architects, business stakeholders, teams, customer and legal teams.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Strategic planning: develop the AI strategy and roadmap aligned with the organization’s overall business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand long-term goals and translate them into actionable AI features.
• AI Governance: oversee the legal and regulatory aspects of AI in the CAC and in the Mercedes-Benz landscapes and enforce AI related standards, policies, and procedures across the SAFe Agile Release Train (ART). Lead the AI Centre of Excellence.
• Security Adherence: ensure that all solutions are implemented within the security frameworks of the CAC and Mercedes-Benz.
• Solution Design: provide architectural guidance and support to Program Architects as well as Service Architects supporting the Agile teams within the ART. Collaborate with product managers, scrum masters, and development teams to design scalable and resilient AI solutions that meet business needs.
• Technical Leadership: serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert on AI related technologies, principles and tooling. Be aware of the newest AI technologies and trends and educate the CAC architecture community in these.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work closely with stakeholders from various departments, including business units, IT operations, security, and compliance, to understand their requirements and incorporate them into the design for AI solutions
• Documentation and Communication: maintain comprehensive documentation of the AI landscape and solutions, including architectural diagrams, design documents, and technical specifications.
• Engagement: participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solution and exploration of solution alterfluents as well as keeping the AI roadmap up-to-date as well as participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and Pre- and Post-PI Planning, System and Solution Demos, and Inspect and Adapt(I&A) events.
• Decisions: operate within an economic framework when considering the impact of design decisions.
• Supplier management: manage suppliers by tracking technology innovation across the domain of vendors. By evaluating and selecting suppliers and aligning the output of those suppliers with the delivery objectives of the agile release train(s) as well as the business and IT strategy.

Requirements

• University degree or Higher Vocational Education
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of IT Architecture
• Extensive experience in the field of AI
• Hands-on experience and good technical knowledge (Salesforce Service Cloud, System Integration, Lightning Experience, overall Salesforce best practices, Telephony integration as an added benefit)
• Good communication skills
• Project management or team leading skills are valued
• English is our corporate language, German is an asset
• Analytical and design thinking
• Experience with the agile way of working and SAFe framework

The salary range for this position is between €4490,- and €6500,- gross per month.
