Werkgever:Maastricht University
Plaats:Maastricht

Oorspronkelijke vacature omschrijving:

Are you an energetic project leader with a passion for higher education? And do you want to contribute to improving and innovating education at Maastricht University? As a project leader, you will supervise the development and implementation of the products and services of the future in the field of education and education innovation.

EDLAB, the Maastricht University for Education Innovation, is looking for an enthusiastic colleague who will work together with the current team to develop EDLAB into a fully-fledged Teaching and Learning Centre within our university.

Job description

Maastricht University (UM) has built vast knowledge and expertise in education innovation and research. Within UM and in close collaboration with the faculties, EDLAB will transition into a Teaching and Learning Centre in the coming years. We are looking for a project leader who will strengthen our team in this change process. As a project leader, your responsibilities will primarily focus on two domains:

  • contributing to the development of the Teaching and Learning Centre through the implementation of education projects, both for the central TLC and faculty clusters
  • guiding educational projects through support and innovation (often through the application of technological innovations)

As a project leader, you will be fully part of the EDLAB team. EDLAB consists of a small team of project leaders who coordinate a wide range of activities, such as organising training courses for teachers, leading educational innovation and research projects, or stimulating exchange and connection through Education Days, online videos and Communities of Practice. These initiatives always happen in close collaboration with faculty colleagues. Examples of projects and tasks where you will be able to apply your knowledge and expertise are:

  • Coordinating our Tool Wheel. The Tool Wheel presents an overview of applications that teachers can use to enrich and enhance their educational practice. Further development of the Tool Wheel is crucial to provide teachers with tailor-made support;
  • Facilitating Communities of Practice around education and educational innovation;
  • Contributing to translating a comprehensive research report on the use of technology in a Problem Based Learning context (literature study) into a directly usable structure for teachers;
  • Coordinating a pilot project to deliver an effective design of hybrid learning spaces in a Problem Based Learning context. In this project, you are engaged in needs assessment, market exploration, design of buildings and research into the effectiveness of the chosen design and set-up of hybrid learning.

These are just a few examples. Thanks to the close and continuous collaboration with faculty colleagues, our team responds to arising needs as efficiently as possible.

Job requirements

  • You have an academic background at Master’s level.
  • You have work experience as a project leader or in another coordinating role.
  • Educational expertise, teaching experience and affinity with educational technology are advantages.
  • You can easily switch between Dutch and English verbally and in writing.
  • You have an analytical mind, work in a structured way and enjoy making connections.
  • You are naturally curious and eager to help shape the future.
  • You naturally look for and identify new opportunities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The 0,8-1,0 fte position is initially offered for 1 year, with a potential prospect of a permanent contract upon a positive evaluated performance. The gross monthly salary of this appointment will depend on education and relevant working experience, with an expected minimum of €2.960 and a maximum of €5.439 per month (based on a full-time position of 38 hours/week).
