We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with a passion for educational policy and insights in relevant related developments, and who excels in analytical and advising skills and has a collegial attitude, to join our team at the Educational Development and Policy (EdaP) cluster of Maastricht University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
We offer a job as Policy Officer Education with a high responsibility for supporting the Faculty Board and Programme Directors with advice on education in a broad sense. You will be part of the EDaP cluster in which you will be responsible for specific educational dossiers, depending on your expertise and experience.
You engage in improving educational processes within our faculty and institution, and keep track of (inter)national developments regarding educational policy, including debates about the internationalisation of higher education.
You work together with your colleagues from EDaP to develop, implement and evaluate educational policy in the faculty. You will be responsible for various education dossiers (depending on your own expertise and experience), such as: quality assurance, participatory bodies in education management, assessment policy, joint teaching programmes, interdisciplinarity in education, and much more. You signal relevant developments on your dossiers and advise the Faculty Board and Programme Directors on this.
EDaP provides theory- and evidence-based support to all FASoS (educational) staff. In particular the Faculty Board, Programme Directors, and the Educational Programme Committees. We aim to further improve education at FASoS by collaborating with relevant stakeholders. You will work together with support staff, teaching staff, and students to further high-level teaching and learning at FASoS. On a policy and educational development level, you will work together within the EdaP team and other members of the faculty. In addition, you will maintain good relations with your colleagues in other faculties and and at university level.
Requirements
We are looking for an independent, proactive team player who is keen on advising the Faculty Board and supporting academic staff/content experts on education policy. You are sensitive to stakeholder interests, and you possess a keen awareness of stakeholder concerns and demonstrate innovative thinking when addressing challenges.

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences FASoS is a close-knit community of approximately 250 staff members and 2100 students. During breaks and before meetings, you can often find us at our favourite local coffee spot Bandito Espresso.
Communication lines within our faculty are short and colleagues are always ready to assist each other. FASoS consists of a highly international student population and a significant part of our staff comes from abroad.
