UM SPORT is looking for a Pilates instructor for 1-2 classes per week. Do you have a degree in Pilates instructor, some experience and would you like to teach international students? Then we are looking for you!

Job Description

UM SPORTS wants to start offering Pilates classes. Therefore, we are looking for a Pilates teacher who can independently teach various target groups. Usually to our (international) members at a fixed time each week, but sometimes also to non-members during one-time workshops.

Requirements

We expect the following from our new Pilates teacher:

  • You can build and instruct Pilates classes independently.
  • You perform the Pilates exercises with the correct technique, giving the right explanations.
  • You already have some experience in teaching Pilates.
  • You have a certificate/diploma from a Pilates teacher training course.
  • You can teach in English and Dutch.
  • You adapt easily to different target groups.
  • You are hospitable and know how to welcome participants in your classes warmly and put them at ease.
  • You are available to teach in the morning, late afternoon and/or (early) evening hours.

What we offer

As Pilates Instructor at Student Services Centre, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 7 according to UFO profile Sports Instructor, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €2693,00 and €3636,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for until September 2024. This contract can be extended with a year.
  • As Maastricht University, we offer various other excellent secondary employment conditions. These include a good pension scheme with the ABP and the opportunity for UM employees to participate in company fitness and make use of the extensive sports facilities that we also offer to our students.

Working at Student Services Centre

The Student Services Centre (SSC) is the central contact point for all student services and helps students with a variety of issues related to studying and student life. For example, the SSC provides students with information on admission, registration, tuition fees and diploma recognition, but they can also go there for legal advice on study-related matters, career advice, a language course or help from a psychologist. In addition, the SSC offers all kinds of extracurricular activities such as a broad sports offer at the University Sports Centre, volunteering opportunities or lectures and workshops through Studium Generale. This way, the SSC offers students the opportunity to develop and enrich themselves in other areas besides their studies so that they can enter the job market with a broad-based knowledge, skills and competencies.

The direct contact with students and the variety of services, make the SSC a dynamic working environment. About UM SPORT

UM SPORT is the sports department of Maastricht University (UM) and also part of UM's Student Services Centre. Our sports offer is particularly aimed at UM students and employees, but is accessible to everyone. We offer a varied range of sports with more than 60 different sports at student-friendly rates. In addition, we have 31 student sports clubs. Our approximately 120 employees including sports instructors, reception staff and management ensure an inclusive environment for our members 7 days a week.
