Seeking an ambitious and reliable Management/project assistant to join our team. Contribute to our Expert Centre on Emerging Economies (ECEE) and be a vital part of shaping a successful future together.

Job Description

As a member of the back office of the ECEE department, you will be responsible for conducting, administering and supporting the tendering process for projects, project implementation and reporting of projects but also providing assistance in harmonizing the other ECEE task related to research, executive training and lobby/ advocacy.

Tasks:


  • Support the acquisition process of projects and tailor made training programs towards national and international donor organizations;
  • Secretarial and administrative support to projects and consultancy operations;
  • Administrative support to project managers in the implementation of projects and tailor made training programs;
  • Handling project administration and reporting;
  • Managing internal and external correspondence and archiving;
  • Organizing meetings;
  • Assisting the director in harmonizing the ECEE activities;
  • General ECEE tasks.

The back office consists of 2 persons. One is about to retire in a few years. This will give our new colleague the opportunity to grow to a more coordinating role within the department.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive team player who is looking for new challenges and has excellent organizational skills to support our team.


  • Several years of experience in secretarial and administrative support.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Excellent control of MS Office package.
  • Communicative skills in both Dutch and English (French is an advantage).
  • Accuracy and proactive.
  • Flexible.

What we offer:

As management/project assistant at School of Business and Economics , you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:


  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 8 according to UFO profile Project Leader, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from € 3,072 and € 4,103 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 1.0 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.

The expert Centre on Emerging Economies (ECEE) is part of the Maastricht School of Management (MSM). ECEE’s work is within MSM devoted to capacity building trajectories, research and executive training. The MSM/ ECEE team is a dynamic and international team of about 16 persons.
