Job description

The department of Cognitive Neuroscience is looking for an enthusiastic and flexible Management Assistant.

The management assistant is responsible for supporting a number of sections within a large department with academic staff and PhD students. In this role, you provide secretarial, organizational and executive support from A to Z (HR, finance, facilities) to the section heads and the staff members. Next to this, you are responsible for a number of tasks related to the entire department. Organization of events for the department is a joint task within the secretariat. This is a versatile position with a variety of tasks.

Furthermore, you will be part of and work closely with 3 colleagues in a small, motivated secretarial team. The work routine at this secretariat is a joint responsibility of the management assistants together headed by the head of the department.

As our new colleague you should have an open and social personality with an excellent understanding of organizational processes and knows how to deal with opposing interests and confidential information.

Requirements

  • You have an education as a secretary MBO+, experience, and affinity with financial, administrative, and HRM tasks;
  • You are detail oriented and precise, without losing sight of the larger whole
  • You have good verbal and writing (Dutch as well as English) communication skills and are able to interact with a variety of people ranging from support staff to academic staff members to PhD students;
  • You are organized and have a hands-on mentality;
  • Solution focused;
  • You know your way with relevant software programs (MS Office);
  • You have some experience in working with SAP;
  • You are able to quickly gather and apply new knowledge and information.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 year, with the prospect of a permanent employment.

We offer a great job opportunity as management-/office assistant within the enthusiastic and appreciative working environment of the department of Cognitive Neuroscience. You will start on a one year fixed term contract for 0.8 FTE with the prospect of a permanent employment.

Depending on experience and qualification, the maximum gross monthly salary is

€ 3.336,- (on a full-time basis) in accordance with scale 7 (UFO profile management/office assistant 2) of the Dutch Labour Law agreements of Dutch Universities. On top of this, there is an annual 8% holiday allowance and a 8.3% end of year allowance. Maastricht University has very attractive employment conditions, which include the possibility of hybrid working (in accordance with your department and faculty regulations), a pension scheme, holidays and partially paid parental leave.

Cognitive Neuroscience (CN)

The Cognitive Neuroscience (CN) department in Maastricht combines research in human perception and cognition with the development of advanced methods in neuroscience. Various brain imaging methods are employed to describe and predict behaviour, such as single cell recording, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), electro- and magneto-encephalography (EEG and MEG). Furthermore, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and neurofeedback are being used to manipulate behaviour. The research is embedded in the Maastricht Brain Imaging Center (M-BIC)
