As the University Library, we support the Maastricht University (UM) community in achieving their academic goals in research and education. Open Science is part of those goals. It is an international initiative that focuses on making research more transparent and impactful. UM has developed its own Open Science policy as a guideline to help researchers make their science more open. To this end, we team up with the Open Science Community Maastricht (OSCM), which consists of Open Science advocates across all UM faculties. Job description
As a Management Assistant within the Open Science team of the University Library, you will have a versatile, varied job with various administrative, organisational and planning tasks within an inspiring international organisation. A job which suits you perfectly if you are highly service-oriented on the one hand, but also have a healthy dose of entrepreneurship and perseverance. With your work as a Management Assistant, you will contribute to the smooth functioning of the organisation by providing adequate secretarial and administrative support and the planning and organisation of various activities and events for academics within the Open Science Community Maastricht as well as support staff within the University Library.
Job requirements
We are looking for you if you are proactive, well-organised, persistent, structured and accurate. You are good at setting priorities and have a friendly, firm personality. You take initiative, can handle a multitude of different tasks and monitor and anticipate processes within the Open Science team well. You are flexible, enjoy working independently, but also enjoy working together. In addition, you are able to learn and pick up things quickly, have a good sense of hospitality, a sense of humour and the ability to put things into perspective. Because the Open Science movement and the UM Library are very dynamic, we are looking for a builder. Someone who oversees processes, improves them and helps the Open Science team innovate along with the organisation and (inter)national developments.
