Exciting opportunity!

FPN is seeking an Internal Communications Officer (0.6 – 0.8 fte) to join our dynamic team during a temporary period of maternity leave (from 1 March – 8 September 2024).

Job Description

We're on the lookout for an experienced communications professional for a key role in internal communication. If you only need half a word to compose informative or inspiring texts, have solid writing skills, and easily adapt your tone to different audiences, you might be the one we need.

Your role involves supporting key players during the revision and launch of our Bachelor programmes, contributing to our Internal Communications Plan, and overseeing the FPN community on UMployee (our employee intranet). You are a team player, quick to understand the faculty dynamics, and comfortable connecting with people both informally and professionally.

Within the faculty, you'll collaborate closely with teammates from the FPN M&C team, the Faculty Board, the Managing Director, and colleagues from the Education Office. If you're a natural communicator ready to thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.

At the FPN Marketing and Communications (M&C) team, we work together in a close-knit team of seven. As a temporary maternity leave replacement, we are now looking for a communications professional experienced in internal communication for a tactical/operational role for 0.6 – 0.8 fte.

As an Internal Communications Officer, you will

  • Support and facilitate key players in their internal but also external communication during the revision and launch of our Bachelor programmes;
  • Actively contribute to specific components of the FPN Internal Communications Plan;
  • Manage the employee intranet 'UMployee', including weekly recaps and internal presentations;
  • Actively contribute to specific components of the UM and FPN language policy implementation plan;
  • Shape and manage internal communication processes and activities, providing advice on effective resource utilization and creating messages from the Faculty Board or the Education Management Team;
  • Create, send and follow-up of the internal biweekly faculty student newsletter, organize town hall meetings in collaboration with the Faculty Board and events team, and facilitate possibilities for others to connect within the FPN community;
  • Serve as the main liaison from M&C to the Education Director and colleagues from the Education Office responsible for current student communication;
  • Represent FPN in meetings with fellow internal communications officers and community managers across the university.

Requirements:

We're on the lookout for a creative thinker with writing skills and a proactive 'can-do' attitude who fits the following criteria:

  • Educational background: We’d love it if you had a degree from a university or university of applied sciences in a relevant field like Journalism or Communication Sciences, but it’s not a deal-breaker.
  • Work experience: Some experience in the field of internal communications is desirable, but if you're fresh out of school or just starting out, no worries – we're all ears!
  • Digital skills: It’s an advantage if you know your way around intranet, email newsletters, and digital editing programs.
  • Adaptability and collaboration: Can you handle changes and work well with the team? Great! We're all about making things happen and getting things done.
  • Language proficiency: You’ve got to be pretty good in both Dutch and English.

In an ideal world we are searching for someone who wants to work 0.6-0.8 FTE.However if you want to work less we still encourage you to apply for this vacancy.
