Shape the future of healthcare data as a Clinical Data Modeler at MUMC+ DataHub, building a cutting-edge health data platform and collaborating with a dynamic team of experts in an innovative environment.

Function description

The Maastricht UMC+ DataHub team is looking for a talented Clinical Data Modeler who is interested in supporting the usage of our institutional infrastructure. The primary scope of this vacancy is designing and maintaining clinical data models to use in our new health data platform.

As a Clinical Data Modeler, you will be part of our multidisciplinary team, consisting of DevOps engineers, data stewards and Data Engineers from

both university and hospital. You will ensure that medical data from various domains will be modeled, standardized and incorporated in the DataHub infrastructure. You will work together with experts from the (research & care) domains to bridge the gap between academic research,

the academic hospital and the latest developments in (open-source) technology.

Major duties:

  • Design and maintain clinical data models;
  • Collaborate with researchers and doctors to model new and existing data according to the openEHR specifications;
  • Document best practices for modeling healthcare data;

Your profile

We require:

  • A BSc in a Healthcare and/or Informatics related field like Medical informatics, Nursing, Bioinformatics, Information Technology,or equivalent;
  • Experience with data modeling concepts and techniques
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience with health information standards like SNOMED CT, LOINC
  • Working proficiency in Dutch.

Additional preferences:

  • Experience with openEHR is a pre;
  • Experience with Dutch Healthcare standards like ZIBs is a pre;
  • Experience with HL7 standards, especially FHIR is a pre;
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology is a pre;
  • Working proficiency in English is a pre

What we offer

As Clinical Data Modeler at DataHub at Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 9 - 10 according to UFO profile ICT Developer, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €3377,00 and €5090,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0,4 - 1,0 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.
