QHSE Manager

JOB OVERVIEW
- Supports and maintains compliance with corporate QHSE system and all local HSE regulations, strategic initiatives Promotes continuous improvement efforts to improve Quality, Health Safety and Environmental conditions at Asbury NL. ?
- Long term focus on quality, seeks perfection and comprehends the end goal is never really reached. Constantly improving each day and creating long-term solutions. Curious and asks questions, looks for data and applies scientific problem solving techniques, thinks big and pushes to grow beyond a state which you can currently imagine.
- As a member of the management team you act on a strategic level and support any other department in the Dutch organization when required.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports and maintains compliance with corporate quality system, strategic quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Deploys, supports and maintains initiatives in the area of safety, health and environmental care and durability, oversees compliance with applicable local legislation.
- Work with local management to maintain and improve plant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental performance(General Manager / Plant Manager / Maintenance Team Managers)
- Guide, energize and continuously develop Quality team skills and knowledge, including own skills
- Review daily production results to ensure product quality is being met.
- Execute a full investigation on all HSE incidents including a RCA and improvement recommendations.
- Set up and run a local HSE improvement system, including a HSE notification system and review meeting.
- Perform regular HSE audits on the work floor, in cooperation with the local MT
- Ensure daily operation of the lab including testing and general maintenance of the testing equipment. Assisting with setup and tracking of preventive system together with the maintenance department and other Asbury plants of lessons learned.
- Maintain an ISO9001 Quality Management System and indicate or arrange training, record retention and continuous improvement to ensure effectiveness.
- Handle Customer complaints as they arise by initiating and completing the Corrective Action process.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Experience working in a QHSE management environment
- Basic to advanced computer skills, with a focus on the Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic Lean six Sigma skills / Advance skills are an advantage
- High School education
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree
- On-The-Job experience commensurate with the position
- Preferred: Society for Quality Certifications in one or more of the following areas: Certified Quality Technician, Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Auditor
- Good command of the Dutch /English language, both oral and written.
- Experience in leading a diverse team
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Wearing personal protective equipment during stay in production
- Black graphite powder exposure, get dirty, wears appropriate PPE including steel toed shoes, dust masks, hard-hat and safety glasses as required; has a positive attitude and enjoys working hard for a rewarding company.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Fast paced environment requiring multi-tasking and ability to handle high stress situations.
